Our marketplace is a platform to discover and support an elevated curation of global artisan goods. Each hotel partner, artisan, and maker involved share our ethos for slow, meaningful travel and production. We aim to provide travelers with authentic souvenirs that help to keep heritage craftsmanship not just preserved but enhanced with technology and innovation. Through our collaborative efforts we support humanitarian and environmental initiatives across the globe.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Alexis Kanter
New York-based Alexis Kanter launched En Place with the goal to provide a space to share the unique stories of global artisans and independent boutique hotels, while providing travelers with authentic and locally sourced souvenirs. A sustainability and design enthusiast, Alexis built En Place after a decade of editorial experience at Condé Nast.

Our products are made by hand with time and precision. Often passing through many talented hands within a single community, these pieces showcase a beauty and quality only achieved through thoughtful production with an attention to detail by their makers.
Heritage Craft
From ancient weaving and pottery techniques to candle making traditions, we help communities keep heritage crafts alive. We work with designers that support local makers by elevating the work of their partner artisans while maintaining the integrity of their craft.
Female Led
At En Place we aim to be a positive force for women globally by providing resources and opportunities to enhance female lives. Through both internal initiatives and those met by carefully considered partners, we maintain a positive impact on female led businesses and communities worldwide.

Eco-Conscious
We strive to reduce waste with quality products that are made to last using natural and organic materials that come from the earth. We use recyclable materials in packaging when possible, and commit to further offsetting our carbon footprint as we scale.

We advocate for the safety of animals and we do not support products that encourage their harm or suffering. We aim to source textiles from farms that maintain the full lifespan of animals while treating them with love and respect.
